Your local shelf curator.

Hi, I’m Erin—a third-generation Charlottean, public servant, wife, mom of four, and the person behind Erin’s Bookshelf. Most days, I’m balancing work, family, and a book I stayed up too late reading. I love traveling, visiting bookstores, talking with friends about what we’re reading, and helping someone find a book that feels just right for them.

My career has always been rooted in community, and that same love of connection is at the heart of this shop. Books give us something to talk about, help us understand one another, and make it easier to find common ground. Erin’s Bookshelf is my way of sharing that with my neighbors and fellow readers.

Why this shop exists

I started Erin’s Bookshelf because I missed the personal side of buying books—the thoughtful recommendation, the little extra care, and the feeling that someone actually understands what you like to read.

You will not find an enormous catalog here, and that is intentional. I choose every book myself, and each one is something I have read, loved, or am genuinely excited to pick up. The hope is that shopping here feels less like sorting through endless options and more like getting a recommendation from a friend who knows your taste.

Because Erin’s Bookshelf is a primarily online wholesaler, I am able to keep costs lower and offer many brand-new releases at a discount. But more than anything, I want this shop to feel warm, personal, and connected to Charlotte. In a time when small gestures and genuine kindness can mean so much, I hope every order feels like it was chosen and packed by someone who is truly glad you are here.

How book pickup works in Charlotte

  • Pickup area: NoDa, Charlotte. Exact address is shared after checkout.
  • Pickup days: Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday.
  • Pickup hours: 9:00am-7:00pm.
  • Pickup window: Orders must be picked up within 5 days.
  • Process: Place your order, wait for pickup confirmation, then collect your labeled order from the porch pickup spot during pickup hours.

Choose local pickup at checkout, and you will receive the exact pickup address and instructions once your order is ready. Pickup is available on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

What if I miss my pickup window?

Orders should be picked up within five days. Life happens, so please contact Erin if you need a little more time, and the pickup can usually be adjusted.

Can you help me choose a book?

Yes. I am a wholesale bookseller and can order any book you need. Send a message with the title and author to check availability and pricing.

Why do I see sales tax and processing fees?

The website uses secure online checkout and automatically collects applicable taxes. These systems allow me to operate as a full online bookstore and continue growing.

Do you accept returns?

Because book conditions and product details are provided before purchase, all sales are generally final. Please contact Erin if your order arrives damaged, you receive the wrong item, or there is another unexpected problem. Special circumstances will always be reviewed with care.
