The Lion Women of Tehran by Marjan Kamali

Format & Condition: Paperback, Like New

Genre: Historical Fiction; Literary Fiction

In 1950s Tehran, Ellie and Homa form a childhood friendship that will shape their lives long after class differences pull them apart. As they grow into women against a backdrop of political upheaval, their bond is tested by ambition, betrayal, and the courage required to fight for a different future.

A New York Times bestseller from the author of The Stationery Shop, this sweeping novel earned praise from People for its portrayal of friendship and feminism. I recommend it for its emotionally rich storytelling and complicated female friendship, with plenty for book clubs to discuss about loyalty, privilege, and forgiveness.
